From there, they’ll just earn XP normally. Your mercenary starts out at level 1, but you can continue customizing and tweaking them up to your character’s current level. However, note that this Inn isn’t the same location as the Half Measure Tavern (which is, well, a tavern, and not an inn). When you take Drezen, he is also in the Inn, on the second floor. A mercenary is basically a generic companion, and the recruitment cost increases the higher your character’s level. Hilor in Drezen Location Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous During the prologue, Hilor could be found in the Defender’s Heart Inn. However, Hilor also gives you a rather expensive option to recruit a mercenary. If they’re already at level 6 or higher by default, it’s harder to tweak them accordingly. It’s different for companions who get recruited much later in the campaign.
This gives you more leeway to change their classes or gain different spells. For instance, Seelah, Camellia, Lann, and maybe Wenduag will always be at low levels since that’s how you encountered them by default. Everything is reset only up to the point when you first recruited them. If you’ve reached level 5 or higher, you could also select the ideal options that would allow you to unlock a Prestige Class (i.e., getting the Dodge and Toughness feats and having a +7 base attack bonus if you want to be a Stalwart Defender).įor your companions, things can be a little trickier.

For your main character, everything will be reset, so you’re free to change your class, respec skill points, change feats, and so on. You can then select your main character or anyone in your party who’ll be retrained. The dialogue option you’re looking for is: “My companions and I need good training.” This large tavern has a war room in the corner where you’ll find a man named Hilor. You can’t win this encounter, and your character wakes up in Defender’s Rest. After many battles and grabbing lots of loot, the party will fight a demoness called Minagho.
Your group will, eventually, arrive in the Gray Garrison. Watch the introductory cutscene, make your way past the caves, and progress further into the Shield Maze. Next, go ahead and create your character (you’ll probably spend an hour doing that due to oodles of combinations), and begin the campaign. Turn on the “Enable Character Retrain” option (seen in the image below).
